Human Race 10K Live from the Inside (Nike+)

Nice work from BBDO Argentina. I would love to see something similar but on a larger scale at the London Marathon. Maybe this could be extended with real time donations to encourage your friends while they are running?

Are you sure you like to drink soda?

Disgusted? NYC health wants to make clear that most people don't realize how easy it is to gain weight from drinking sugary sodas, juice drinks, sport drinks and sweetened tea and coffee drinks. Just one 20-ounce bottle of soda can pack 250 calories and more than 16 teaspoons of sugar.

NYC Health encourages viewers of this ad to take a little survey, so go ahead!

This ad uses a classic advertising technique by visualizing the meaning of this. If you're interested in these kind of ways of telling stories, I can recommend "Made To Stick", which explains why these ads work.

Yahoo loves Creatives

Yahoo is targeting creatives in their latest campaign to increase brand awareness. It is a smart move to appeal to creatives in the hope that they would think about Yahoo in their concepts as they are not often targeted. The question remains however how much have creatives to say about media channels in an agency? Anyways, it is a good laugh!

The best advertising isn't advertising: Ikea Heights

As I mentioned in my post about AKQA, one of their key interal beliefs is that "The best advertising isn't advertising".

Today I came across this brilliant spoof soap opera called "Ikea Heights", entirely shot inside the Burbank Ikea store in California without the management's knowledge. It’s really well done.

In my opinion these series of virals made for Channel101, a humorous video site, is the best free advertising that IKEA could have! An advertising agency couldn't do better.

If you are hungry for more, there are already 6 episodes available here!

Who needs creatives anyway?

Students from the Miami Ad School came up with a solution for every CMO out there who is sick of creative advertising solutions for their brands: The Ad-O-Matic:

As much as I love the creative execution of the idea, the concept of an Ad-generator is not new. Cromwell advertising has a nifty ready to use generator on their site which will give you instant ad solutions for TV, Web, PR or Branding. Check it out on their site:

Click here to generate instant ads for your brand and sack your agency!

First Direct's new site shares what people are saying about the brand real time

First Direct launched a new site: http://www.live.firstdirect.com/.The site shares what people are saying about the brand real time. It's a bold, brave step that many brands probably wouldn't have the guts to take. But, for First Direct, a brand with strong customer advocacy, it's an excellent way to show just how good they are.

Nice work and in my opinion more brands should accept the fact that they are reviewed and discussed anyways on the web, so they should try to take some advantage out of it.

Tabasco, Tabasco the original liquid pepper seasoning...

TV commercials have come a long way since the sixties, but I just can't get this Tabasco song out of my head.
